The Pickett County Corrections Partnership Committee recently opened the bids for the new jail project and all bids reportedly came in over the amount desired. County officials are looking at a $8 million dollar price tag. Officials say the project will need to be re-designed and sent out for bidding again. The proposed 54-bed facility will be located off of West Main Street in Byrdstown.
